Counseling Philosophy
It is okay to not be okay, and it is okay to reach out for help! I am a firm believer that therapy can be helpful for everyone, and you get out of it what you put into it. I hope to work alongside you as you learn and grow in living out your authentic self.
Counseling Orientation
I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important factor in the success of treatment. I work to create trust with my clients so we have the ability to be honest with one another and not be afraid of making mistakes. My Gestalt approach is one where we practice things within the therapeutic space before utilizing these skills in the "real world," acknowledge when there are discrepancies between thinking and behaviors, process through feelings rather than pushing them to the side, and working to increase awareness of how our issues are affecting us in the present. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth, and I look forward to working with you on that journey to self-discovery.
Areas of Specialty
Past and current clients of mine come to therapy struggling with situations such as generalized anxiety, postpartum anxiety and depression, trauma, pregnancy, transitional issues with stages of life, parenting, and many others. My personal philosophy is that even if I may have not worked with a client with your specific concern, I can always hold space for you and ensure you have someone to advocate for and support you.
